More time?

If we were giving more time, I would have improved a lot of things to our presentation. For one I would start of planning, in which I would create a proper and clear plan. I would make sure everything was planned properly and so I knew what we were doing every lesson. After that I would make sure it we took a wider range of images and also maybe tried to think of a more abstract way we could have presented them. Also if we had more time, I would have put more time in to editing our photos so they were perfect and made sure I looked at every single detail. I also would have spent more time on our garage band as I quickly created that, I also would have researched some other soundtracks which would possibly copy right free, as I learnt that we were to prefixed on what soundtrack we wanted.

Lesson’s Learnt.

It doesn’t hurt to plan properly, if planned better your overall presentation would come out better.

Don’t always rely on facilities (memory stick indicant)

Our Final Video.

This is mine, Tilly’s and Emma’s presentation. I believe it has come out quite well and is effective. Also it is very abstract which was one of the main things we wanted to succeed in our presentation, as i believe it makes it different and stands out from the rest. I am glad we decided to use our own photography, as this meant we could use the exact images we wanted without having to look for them on the Internet or draw them out. Our idea was quite simple but now its completed it looks like complex. We decided to put an effect on every several frames to add an edge, also to prevent our presentation looking like a slideshow. I believe that all our photos link in well to each other and so it’s a constant flow of relevant photographs. I also am glad that Emma joined Tillys group and mine as it gave it a range of images and was not all about eating disorders. I believe we worked well as group as we all put our own input in to the presentation.

These are some of the other photographs i have edited to make them look more intressting and abstract. I editied all of them on Photoshop and belive they all came out well, however if i had more time i would have paid more attention to the small details.

Editing
With the help of Photoshop I edited the photos I took of Sophie. I wanted to make my photos more abstract, so I thought using Photoshop would help me get the effect I wanted.  For an example I edited the photograph of Sophie with the tape measure around her neck, I made it more abstract by putting the image in greyscale, after doing this I highlighted the tape measure by overlaying it with the colour white, this made the tape measure the main focus of the photo. I then edited Sophie’s skin and eyes, I made her skin have a slightly bad complexion as I thought this would link well to our risk topic. To her eyes I made them dark, to highlight bags, this in my opinion made my photo look more dramatic and abstract. I am very pleased how the photographs I took and edited have came out.

Sound Track Problems.

The songs that we were planing to use for our final presentaion, we were not able to use this is because we were not able to find a copy right free version of the songs. In which i solved this problem by creating a sound track with use of garage band. I decided not to make the sound to happy but not to gloomy, this is why i chose a range of different sounds to go together which i think go quite well and set the mood well.

Airbrushed.

This shows how the media changes a photo to look like perfection, in which people see this as perfection and try to look a certain way. Not only have they caked the model in makeup but you can also see how much editing is done to one simple image, this shows how deceiving the media is as it is giving people a distorted image of beauty at a young age.

Lesson Review.

In today’s lesson Tilly, Emma and I decided to spilt in to two groups, this is because we had an set back at the begging of the lesson. The set back was that we save our work on to a memory stick at Long Road, and when inputting our memory stick in to the Colleridge computers some of the images created were not able to be opened on the computers, this is as LongRoad had a newer programme of final cut, in which Colleridge did not have the correct programme to open our work on as it was not as advance.

Tilly and Emma went off together and took the other photographs we needed to complete our presentation, while I stayed in the class and edited the photographs again. This was a set back but not a huge one. However was slightly annoying as we could have done something different in our time but were not able to.

When Tilly and Emma had finished taking the images of the Barbie’s, we sat down as a group and edited the images, however we could not spend as much time as we did on the other photos we had edited because of our set back.

After the photos had been edited, we made a plan of how we wanted the photos to be shown in our presentation, Emma wrote down the order so we did not get confused. We tried to mix the photographs a bit so it wasn’t all dark images then colour. This made our presentation look more effective.

When this was completed, I went on another computer and tried to find some copyright music, however I was not able to as the soundtracks we wanted I could not find. In which we decided that I should make a soundtrack on garage band what I did. I then saved the file on to my memory stick then transferred it on to the other computer Tilly and Emma were using.

We watched our presentation through and noticed we needed something else to make it look more interesting, in which we decided to put an effect on some of the photos. I believe this worked well.

Media Influence.

The media does not only influence people to be really thin, it also can influence people to look a certain way for instance young girls may read certain magazines and believe they have to have a full face of makeup and big boobs to look pretty, this is also influenced my men. However the media does not only influence girls, it also influences boy’s this is as if you look all the male models used in magazines they are all toned and don’t have an imperfections, this makes boys feel they have to look like them which also cause’s pressure to them. The sad thing about this is that a lot of people don’t realise images used in magazines and newspapers have been airbrushed to give that so-called “perfect” image.

Lesson Review.

In today’s lesson, I brought in my memory stick with the photos I had edited already on and the photos I hadn’t edited. So the first thing I did was upload my photos to my laptop and work on them on Photoshop. After completing this. Tilly, Emma and I decided to go and take some more photographs; we had not taken photos of a skeleton yet so we decided to do that. We then went to the health and social class to borrow their skeleton.

After we got the skeleton we decide to take pictures in the hall, in front of the curtains this is because it gave us a plain background. We decided to rap measuring tapes around the skeleton to show how drastic eating disorders can get, as some suffers can look as if they are a “walking skeleton”. We brought the tape measures from home. We took photos of the skeleton from different angles this was to get varied shots.
